Discover Your Own Backyard
Kentucky Appalachians. The Hatfields and McCoys may have once kept the area hopping during their legendary feud, but today all is quiet along the Appalachian front.
This is the region where a brave pioneer woman, Jenny Wiley, gained icon status, and a pioneer of another kind, Loretta Lynn, started on her road to country music legend. A region whose beauty is as timeless as the mountains that define it.

"Each year the VW group we camp with has our first campout at Carter Caves State Resort Park in Olive Hill. This is by far my favorite camping trip of the year for a number of reasons. The campground is always very clean, and facilities are as well. The staff is always friendly. The cave tours are very enjoyable and educational. The number one reason I love this park is the hiking trails. I try to do different trials each year and always find new surprises along each of them." Submitted by Pam
